The Acer Swift 7 SF714-52T weighs only 890g which feels impossibly light. Even so, it has a 14-inch full-HD screen and a relatively sturdy body. Acer says it has used metal alloys that are tough yet light. This is a fanless laptop using a dual-core 'Amber Lake' Core i7-8500Y so don't expect it to do much heavy lifting. Basic tasks such as Web surfing and office productivity should be fine, but this laptop will struggle with creative programmes. The main issue for most people will be the keyboard layout, which is cramped and missing the top Fn row. You get two Thunderbolt 3 ports and a 3.5mm audio socket, but that's all there is in terms of physical connectivity. If you can live with the compromises this could be a great road warrior's laptop, but most people will not want to take things so far.
